Q.  What is CBV?

A.  We’re a bunch of fantastic writers, both full-time and freelance, who work together to make all your content dreams come true.

Q. How did CBV come to be? And who is it for?

A. CBV was formed out of a need to create good content for big, small and independent businesses alike. We work with a myriad of institutions.  You could be an independent business, in need of copy help with your website or social media. You could also be a bigger organisation that already has a full-fledged teams of writers, but might need a helping hand every once in a while. Or you might have a short-term or long-term project you need help with and don’t necessarily want to go out and hire full-time writers to do the job for you.  Could Be Verse was born to fill this gap with talented writers and provide customised content to all those in need.

Q. How big is your team?

A. Big enough to handle all your needs. Ahem. Small enough to keep things focused, organised and efficient.

Q. What kind of projects do you do?

A. We are happy to undertake all things content, right from tech to lifestyle. In the past, we've worked with startups, branding companies, design companies, product companies, ad agencies, and SMEs to fulfill all their content needs. This means we've done all kinds of copy including website copy, e-mailers, newsletters, video scripts, white papers, and case studies. We even work on and implement social media strategies for a bunch of restaurants and companies across India.

Q. What is the qualification of your typical writer?

A. Although all our writers are highly qualified in their respective fields, we regard skill, technique and approach higher than qualification, unless a project specifically demands it. Each writer goes through a copy test before they come on board, and not every writer makes the cut. Each writer is assigned a project based on their forte and their writing style. For financial and technical writing projects, we’ve got  financial writers and tech writers, along with advisers from the industry who we consult with.

Q. Any chance of viewing a sample of your output?

A. Absolutely. Leave us an email and we’ll send them right over.

Q. Will you take up a writing test for us?

A. We do, in the case of a very specific requirement. Generally, post a client enquiry, we send out copy samples and let them decide if they’d like to work with us.  However, we’re occupied with multiple projects at any given point and copy tests aren’t something we can accommodate.

Q. What if I want to change the brief?

A. A changed brief is considered a fresh brief and will be taken up as a new task, chargeable extra.

Q. What if the project takes longer than expected?

A. All project timelines and deadlines are agreed upon before we begin work. The project flow rarely deviates from it. If there’s an absolute emergency, or something absolutely unavoidable comes up, work will be paused completely and picked up once again when things are better, in which case, we’ll stick to the revised project timelines. If, however, you want to extend project timelines, there will be an additional cost you will have to incur.

Q. Is it possible for me to engage the writer to work on my assignment on site?

A. You may on occasion engage a writer on site, if and when it’s absolutely necessary. This will however, be subject to hourly wages for a writer’s time at your office, in addition to the project costs communicated.

Q. But you’re an Indian company. Shouldn’t your costs be lower?

A. No.

Q. Do I have to fill out the copy brief? Can’t this be done over a phone call?

A. A copy brief gives us a complete understanding of your business/product/service, your marketing goals, your target audience and your key proposition. Having all this information in one place before we begin makes it easier for us to do good work and eliminates unnecessary back and forth later.

Q. What is the best way to reach you?

A. Email is the best way to go. If we fail to respond to your email within 24 hours, feel free to call us anytime between 10 am – 6 pm IST.

Q. Couldn’t I just go ahead with Elance, Fiverr and Odesk?

A. You could, if it works for you, and if you find a writer who will do the job for you within your budget. But we have a hands-on, personalised approach that has only done us good so far. You’re not only paying for a writer and prompt deliveries, but you’re also paying for an editor and a project manager who will oversee the delivery of your entire project.

Q. Why should I do business with you?

A. Accuracy of copy. Adaptability to different tones, styles and methods. Promptness and transparency. Also because you love us.
